Project description

The building is composed of two rectangular volumes arranged in parallel: one containing the changing rooms and the other the indoor swimming pools. These are supported by a perpendicular bar that houses the building’s entrances and serves as a hinge between the new facility and the existing sports hall and hockey rink. On the first floor, the fitness room of the sports hall is expanded by means of a volume that opens towards the access area, offering views of the river while also shaping the porch of the main entrance to the building.

Two longitudinal courtyards are proposed, one on each side of the building, allowing natural lighting and ventilation of the spaces while also creating a sequence of solid and void with the two adjacent buildings. These courtyards will feature vegetation that will act as a solar protection barrier.
